MARANELLO’s SUMMARY SHEET
Very few people know that Maranello has a wax statue that is unique in the world, even envied by Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. We are talking about the statue of Enzo Ferrari, an astonishingly realistic depiction of the Drake himself, behind his desk in the office and with his trademark sunglasses.
The prestigious University of Montreal has chosen MABIC, the historical public library of Maranello, as one of the five most culturally significant and complete libraries of Italy and Europe.
BEST KNOWN FOR
Maranello was not the first choice to build the Ferrari car company. Enzo Ferrari was forced to move out from Modena due to the war, but faithful to his ambitions, he chose this small and simple town, in which he had personal land holdings, as a foundation for the realization of his great dream. It was for this combination of events that at Maranello, in 1943, the legend began and became famous since then and recognized all over the world. On the other hand, the city of Modena, rich in so many ways, remained as a strong point to export and give exposure to the Ferrari brand. The collaboration and development between the two cities made Ferrari “the most influential brand in the world” in 2013 and 2014.
Emilia Romagna region is dominated by hilly countryside, vineyards and olive groves, small medieval towns and enchanting Renaissance cities, with quiet, winding roads that range from medium to low altitude with climbs that are often short and steep.
The climate of Emilia Romagna is extremely diverse, from the Adriatic Sea to the Po Valley. Subcontinental climate in most parts, with hot and humid summers and cold and rigid winters, and a little more temperate along the coastal strip.
